Bill Burt, “The Mogul of the Merrimack Valley,” has been writing about the Boston sports scene for more than 20 years.

He has covered events including the Marvin Hagler-Thomas Hearns fight in Las Vegas, the Super Bowl in New Orleans, the Ryder Cup in Brookline, the Final Four at the Meadowlands and the New England Patriots (since 1990).Burt has spent his entire writing career at The Eagle-Tribune in North Andover, MA, where he started as a high school football reporter in 1983.

Noted for his column writing and his beat coverage of the Patriots, Burt has been a regular co-host of The Big Show since November of 1999.

He has been Sports Editor of The Eagle-Tribune since 1999, heading a sports section that has won numerous awards in New England and wit Associated Press. He is also a regular co-host on Fox Sports Net's "New England Sports Report" and NECN's Sunday night sports show.

Burt is working on a book chronicling an inside look at the New England Patriots improbable drive to the Super Bowl, "The Perfect Season", due out in the spring.

Burt, a native of Quincy, MA, graduated form Merrimack College in 1983. He is an avid golfer.
