On December 15, 2005 Sports Radio WEEI 850 AM announced that Mike Adams was going to take over as permanent host of the night-time slot from 7 PM - Midnight. His show, called Planet Mikey, made it's debut. Adams, a regular contributor to the station, got the gig after a bold act of defiance during which he locked WEEI host Glenn Ordway out of the studio. Adams barricaded himself in the studio shortly after 6 PM refusing to yield the microphone until Program Director Jason Wolfe gave him the job.

Mikey's Hair Raising Adventure
 Hello Planet Mikey citizens, as you have probably heard, Mikey is not allowed to cut his hair until next year's Super Bowl because he made a bet on air saying if the Patriots lost the Super Bowl he would not cut his hair for a year!  On Thursday, May 29th, WEEI will hold the long awaited finals of the Planet Mikey Idol Karaoke contest! The competition will be held at the Halfway Café in Holbrook, MA between Mikey Adams and The Big Show's Pete Sheppard. In addition, WEEI will also conduct a karaoke contest for 20 lucky listeners.
