Mike Adams
|
Mike Adams was born in Pittsburgh, PA. and raised in Manchester, CT. During Mike's high school days at Avon Old Farms, he managed to letter in Baseball and in Track. After graduation he attended The Connecticut School of Broadcasting, and broke into radio before the age of 19. Mike started at WINF in Manchester, CT in 1973 but didn't stop there. Two years later he moved to the big city to work for WPOP in Hartford and WRCQ for the next two years. After various stints at WMAS, WHYN & WAQY in Springfield, MA, WLOB Portland, ME, and WCCC & WHCN Hartford, Mikey broke into TV. His television debut came in 1985 at WFSB TV Hartford. His outstanding talent earned him his own show Sports World at Boston's NECN in 1992 til 1998 which earned him 3 Emmy Awards and Boston's Best Sports Anchor two years straight. Mike also hosted shows for Classic Sports Network in New York City, as well as WFXT Fox 25 Boston. But starting at WEEI in 1993 is Mike's most memorable accomplishment paving the way to the one and only Planet Mikey program which was launched in December, 2005. Mike lives in the Greater Boston area with his wife Christine, and is a proud parent of his daughter Kelly a guidance counselor in MA and his son Scott who is an actor in New York City.
